Big Slick 10 - Campaign Identity

Each year, Kansas City’s comedy community comes together for Big Slick, a weekend fundraiser supporting Children’s Mercy Hospital. The event spans celebrity softball, bowling, poker, stand-up, live music, and community activities. All to raise meaningful funds for a critical cause.

During my time at Barkley, I helped develop the core campaign and visual direction for Big Slick’s 10th anniversary. The concept, Serious Fun, emerged as a way to bridge the humor of the hosts with the very real mission of Children’s Mercy. We wanted the work to feel energetic and celebratory without losing sight of why the event exists.

The visual system centered around a handcrafted cut-paper approach. Typography, icons, and graphic elements were physically cut, scanned, and then composed digitally. A detailed, hands-on process that added texture and authenticity to the final pieces. The campaign ultimately helped support a record-breaking year for fundraising.
